Affiliate disclosure

Drape & Dawn is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you click a product link on this site and buy something, we earn a commission. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.

That is the only way this site makes money. There is no advertising, no sponsored content, no paid placement, and no subscription.

No manufacturer or retailer pays us to include a product, to place it higher in a roundup, or to describe it in a particular way. Nobody outside the site reviews a page before it is published. Commission rates are not a factor in what gets picked or in what order.

The practical test of that is whether a site ever tells you not to buy anything. This one does, repeatedly: several pages here conclude that the answer is a wider rod you can fit to the curtains you already own, or moving a desk, or a strip of weatherstrip that costs almost nothing. Those conclusions earn us little or nothing, and they are the right answer, so they stay.

• Every product link goes through a redirect at /go/ on this domain. That page adds our Amazon Associates tag to the destination and sends you on. It exists so that links can be maintained and updated in one place rather than being scattered through hundreds of pages, and so that a retailer change does not require rewriting every article.
• Our links go to Amazon search results, not to a single product page. Because we cannot verify in advance that a specific product listing is still the product we describe, a link takes you to the current results for that product line — which is more reliable than a direct link that may quietly become a different item.
• Every earning link is marked rel="sponsored nofollow", in line with Google’s guidance on affiliate links, and opens in a new tab so you do not lose your place.
• Every buy button carries an #ad label and a link back to this page, so the disclosure is never more than one click away from any commercial link on the site.

This site does not display prices. We have no live price feed, and publishing a figure that might be weeks out of date would be worse than publishing none — you would make a decision on a number that is not real. So every buy link reads “Check price on Amazon” and takes you to the current listing.

If that changes and a live feed is added, every price on the site will carry a visible date, and any figure older than 48 hours will disappear automatically rather than be left up. That behavior is already built into the site; there is simply no data flowing into it yet.

Drape & Dawn does not sell anything, hold stock, take payment, or handle orders. Anything to do with a purchase — delivery, returns, warranty, a product that arrived wrong — has to go to the retailer you bought from. We cannot help with those and it would be misleading to imply otherwise.
